Maes Y Felin (St Lythan's)

St Lythan's is near the Tinkinswood site (signposted) The monument can be found in the middle of a field near the Tinkinswood site. It is quite dramatic as it is on the skyline of a gently sloping field and is quite exposed. There is a hole in the rear stone. This is supposed to be a sprit hole and can be found in many other monuments.

Folk tales associated with St Lythans
Most the tales associated with St Lythan's apply to the nearby Tinkinswood site as well. A horse is supposed to appear on some moonlight nights. Anyone foolish enough to mount it will be carried off and not remember a thing until the next morning when he will awake on the capstone of the chamber. Other legends say that the capstone will spin around and the whole monument will curtsey to passers by on mid summers eve and that a wish whispered in good faith on Halloween (Samhain) will come true.
